Sesame Allergy A Growing Concern In Children, Quercetin May Be The Solution

The Federal Food and Drug Administration is considering requiring food manufacturers to put sesame on food labels due to children having an allergy to it. Approximately 20 to 30 percent of children outgrow it. Still, approximately 1.1 million children may have the reaction. Part of the reason for the concern is that there are a large amount of foods containing sesame in them.

Sesame allergies seem to be on the rise…what natural supplement can you use to help?

Many allergies stem from overly sensitive immune systems. One of the best natural remedies for every kind of allergy is quercetin. Quercetin is a pigment found in plants that can provide support for allergies while also protecting against oxidative stress and damage from free radicals. If you’re going to try taking quercetin for an allergy, it’s important to look for one that is bioactive as it will be much easier for the body to absorb. One excellent brand is Bioactive Quercetin EMIQ, which contains additional vitamin C to help boost immunity, granting even further protection from allergies.

If you suspect your child is suffering from a sesame allergy, it’s a good idea to consult your pediatrician and possibly schedule a food allergy test to ensure there aren’t other allergens they may react negatively to, which you might be overlooking.
