A study has found that a lot of children with heart disease had mothers who had diabetes. In this study, cardiovascular disease was much higher in children of women who had diabetes while pregnant in comparison to children who were not exposed at all. And there was more of a risk in children whose mothers had diabetes before pregnancy.
Prenatal exposure to maternal diabetes has also been linked with diabetes and obesity in children and this could also lead to a chance of CVD later in life. When there is exposure to diabetes in the utero it could have long-lasting effects on the fetus and therefore a bigger chance of a chance of CVD in the child.
Children whose mothers had diabetes were more prone to developing obesity, diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. Also, children whose mothers had diabetes had the most risk of pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis and hypertensive disease.
A history of CVD or complications due to diabetes should always be considered when a woman is pregnant to protect her unborn child. If you’d like more information about diabetes or cardiovascular disease as well as how to come up with a natural treatment plan, be sure to check out my main page.
