“I am so glad I consulted with you. The chemotherapy I was receiving was causing me to lose weight. Through your diet I was able to put the much needed weight back on and keep my immune system strong. Even when I had trouble getting food down you were able to work out a way for me to get my much needed calories. I still avoid those foods you told me would weaken my immune system and I feel you really helped me during my treatments.
- Mildred Harnack,
Lyndhurst, NJ

“I have nothing but great things to say about The Banish! Program. I am 53 and have smoked since I was a teenager. I have tried to quit countless times. Cold turkey, patches, gum, zyban, you name it I tried it. All except hypnosis. I'm not even sure how I found out about your site, but I decided to sign up. Right after the session I felt different. Very little cravings and no cheating. I have been smoke free now for 5 months. This is a huge accomplishment for me. I have never been able to go more then a week or two without backsliding and returning to smoking. I am so delighted that your program worked. I have told several people about it and will continue to spread the word if anyone is trying to quit.”
–Edward Robinson,
Pequannock, NJ

3 Powerful Techniques to Bettering Your Stomach, Bowel, and Intestinal Health!

You will be able to incorporate the information in this article to improving your gastrointestinal health and
helping your intestinal problems.

1. Chewing

In our society we tend to chew our food very little, and this simple act can greatly impact our digestive processes. Our bodies create over a litter or more of saliva daily to aid our digestion. When we chew our food well and allow it to be coated and mixed with our mouths’ saliva, this benefits our digestion.

When you chew your food, even without the aid of saliva, this will help your body begin to digest your food. Whatever food you don’t break down by chewing, is just more work your digestive organs have to do.

Here are a few reasons of why chewing your food is important to your gastrointestinal health:

  • When you chew your food well it grinds the food into small bits, allowing you an easier time of swallowing it. Have you ever tried swallowing a poorly chewed piece of food? It hurts on the way down your esophagus, you can actually feel your food scrapping along the side of your throat! Ideally, you should chew your food until solids become liquid in your mouth, a manageable approach is chewing each mouthful 30 times. This will benefit your stomach, bowel and intestinal health.

  • When you chew your bits of food well they are easily coated with your bodies digestive juices once inside your stomach. Your body uses less energy for digesting well-chewed food than it does for inadueqately chewed and swallowed food you consume.

  • Chewing your food well allows many of the nutrients within your chewed food to be quickly released and absorbed.

  • This is an important step in your stomach and overall intestinal health. Try keeping food in your mouth longer and by chewing it well allow your food’s flavors to be recognized by your tongue. When your tongue recognizes the flavor, it sends a signal to the brain, which then sends a signal to the digestive system.  This lets your body release the correct amount of digestive juices needed.

2. Eating Regularly

Eating large meals at one time puts a great strain on your intestinal health and can lead to problems. The larger the meal you eat, the more work your digestive system has to do, in order to produce the digestive juices needed to completely breakdown your food. Eating smaller meals or snacks each day puts less strain on your digestive system and allows for better intestinal health.

Eating six smaller meals and snacks per day will allow your body to digest food better, without having to exert large amounts of energy. If eating six times per day is difficult, then eating a small meal or snack every four hours is the next best step.

3. Drink More Water

Food is moved throughout your digestive system by a wavelike movement called peristalsis. If the peristalsis process is too fast you can end up with diarrhea and if it is unusually slow you can have constipation. The rate of peristalsis is partly regulated by your water intake.

The number of ounces of water you should drink will vary depending on your body weight.  A general recommendation that will benefit the average person is to drink 64 ounces (8 - eight ouncs glasses) of water throughtout the day. This will ensure the prevention of dehydration and help your stomach, intestinal and bowel health.
